Skookum Dog Care Instructions

Skookum Dog Washing Instructions

Your Skookum Dog gear will last a good long time (though only true love lasts forever). Like most stuff, hand wash and line dry and it’ll last even longer, though machine washing and drying for some items is just fine (read on).

Sheepskin Bed
For regular cleaning, we recommend gently vacuuming the sheepskin top and wiping down the 1050d ballistic nylon bottom with a damp cloth or paper towels (it cleans quite easily!) and allowing to air dry. This gentle and effective method of cleaning will ensure your bed stays in its best condition for as long as possible.

Did your dog really mud it up? Remove the memory foam and machine wash the outer shell (front load or agitator-free if possible), on the delicate or hand wash cycle using a small amount of mild laundry detergent. Air or line dry for best results; you can tumble dry no or low heat if you’re really in a hurry. As pet owners know, a brief cycle in the dryer can be a quick and easy way to remove excess fur.

Summit Bed
For regular cleaning, we recommend vacuuming the sheepskin top and wiping down the 1050d ballistic nylon bottom with a damp cloth or paper towels and allowing to air dry. This gentle and effective method of cleaning will ensure your bed stays in its best condition for as long as possible.

Did your dog really mud it up? Unzip the fleece top from the bed and machine wash it (front load or agitator-free is recommended) on the delicate or hand wash cycle using a small amount of mild laundry detergent. Tumble dry no heat for the best results or on low if you’re really in a hurry. The pillows in the bolster are also removable and machine washable/dryable. We recommend spraying the 1050d ballistic nylon shell with a hose and allowing to air dry or wiping it down with a damp cloth (it cleans up quite easily!)

Camp Mat
For regular cleaning, we recommend vacuuming the soft top side. For a more thorough cleaning, machine wash (front load or agitator-free if possible) on the delicate or hand wash cycle using a small amount of mild laundry detergent. Tumble dry no heat for the best results or on low if you’re really in a hurry.

Stuffed Bat
Put the little guy in a netted laundry bag and throw him in the wash on the delicate cycle. He’d probably be OK in the dryer but will definitely last longer if you air dry him.

Duffels
Hand wash in the kitchen or service sink or bath tub with mild dish soap. Air dry. No machine washing or drying for these.

Collars
Remove your dog’s tags and for best results, hand wash in the sink with mild dish soap and maybe some non-chlorine bleach if they’re really dirty. Or, put in a netted laundry bag and throw ’em in the wash on the delicate cycle and line dry. Remember to put the tags back on!

Leash
For best results, hand wash in the sink with a small amount of mild dish soap and maybe some non-chlorine bleach if they’re really dirty. Or, put in a netted laundry bag and throw ’em in the wash on the delicate cycle and line dry.
